In such a scenario, Arsenal have eyes on Neves and can ‘advance’ towards Benfica to sign the midfielder, who is also on the wish-list of Man Utd and Man City.
The well-known Portuguese media outlet have mentioned that the Eagles will only ‘accept’ a fee of at least £85m (100 million euros) for the sale of their prized asset.
Man Utd have already seen a bid worth 60 million euros rejected by Benfica.
Joao Neves plays in the No.6 position for the Primeira Liga giants and has been highly impressive over the past year.
He will be featuring for Portugal at the European Championships and it will be intriguing to see whether the teenager will start ahead Ruben Neves, who is much more experienced DM.
In all fairness, Man Utd must act swiftly and beat Arsenal to the signing of Neves as they desperately need a solid DM.
The north London club broke the bank to sign Declan Rice last summer and the England international is their main play breaker in the center of the park. Arteta also has Partey for the No. 6 role.
On the other hand, United have Casemio, whose best days are long gone. Amrabat, who moved on loan last summer, may return to Italy.
