Arsenal has ‘no agreement’ to sign Gyokeres despite Romano claim – Latest update on Man Utd’s position

Viktor Gyokeres Sporting CP

The future of Viktor Gyokeres at Sporting CP has been uncertain for far too long, but last night, it seemed that the saga is set to end when Fabrizio Romano revealed, with his catchphrase Here We Go, that the striker will move to Arsenal.

However, the latest update coming from Portugal indicates that there is still no fee agreement to complete the transfer of the Swedish international.

As per today’s edition of O Jogo, there is still ‘no green light’ for the departure of the 27-year-old center forward.

The media outlet have mentioned that journalist David Ornstein, from The Athletic, and transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, assured that the agreement between the clubs was sealed, but, according to the Porto based paper’s own information, there is still ‘no agreement’.

Where does that leave Manchester United? Sadly nowhere.

O Jogo report that Gyokeres has rejected the chance to reunite with Ruben Amorim and continues to turn down Man Utd as he will ‘only accept’ playing for Arsenal.

The center forward has already packed his belongings and is preparing to move to London to play for the Gunners.

So, there might be no official agreement as yet, but it will not come as any surprise to see Gyokeres realize his dream of joining Arsenal, much to the despair of Man Utd.

The Old Trafford faithful would not like to see average performers like Zirkzee and Hojlund start in the No.9 position in front of their two prolific signings, Cunha and Mbeumo.

Unfortunately, Gyokeres has opted for the north Londoners and Ekitike is heading to Liverpool.

Amorim needs to secure a consistent out and out striker, who can turn things around for United in the next campaign and get them back to challenging for the top prizes.
