‘This would break my heart’, Arsenal legend makes huge claim about impending Man United signing

Arsenal icon Ian Wright has stated that playmaker Mesut Ozil joining Manchester United is all but a certain deal.

Mesut Ozil has not yet penned a new contract with Arsenal and with the German international showing no interest in extending his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, it looks very likely that he will be leaving the Gunners soon.

A host of clubs are understandably keen on acquiring the services of Ozil at the moment and Arsenal’s rivals Manchester United have widely been tipped as the side currently in pole position to acquire the services of the playmaker.

Now Arsenal legend Ian Wright has gone on to speak about Ozil’s potential move to Manchester United and has boldly stated that the 29-year-old joining the Red Devils is a shoo-in.

Wright told BBC Sport, “Do you know what? That would break my heart. You know why? Because they’ve got players who perform, and play well. I could see, for instance, I’m hearing (Juan) Mata is kind of edging for a deal.

“If that doesn’t happen Mesut Ozil on a free to Man United is a shoo-in. I could see him at United being unbelievable.”
