Arsenal prepared to agree £45m-£50m terms to beat Man Utd to signing – Report

The center-forward position has been a problematic area for Manchester United in recent years and former manager Erik ten Hag tried to resolve it by signing Rasmus Hojlund ahead of last season.

The Dane is a young, highly talented player with big prospects. Therefore, perhaps, the Dutch boss thought he would be an option for the next decade at Old Trafford.

However, he hasn’t been able to flourish his career in the Premier League. Last year, the Red Devils hired Joshua Zirkzee to support the 22-year-old but he has had a slow start in the English top flight.

Hence, Ruben Amorim is now willing to purchase a new out and out striker this summer. Just Arsenal claim that the Portuguese boss wants to reunite with his former colleague Viktor Gyokeres, and Man Utd have already contacted the player’s representatives over this deal.

However, they haven’t tabled a formal proposal yet. Chelsea and Arsenal are also in this race, while the Gunners are preparing to offer the Swedish international a £9m-£10m-a-year in wages until 2030.

Therefore, Arsenal are ready to agree terms worth £45m-£50m Gyokeres to persuade him to join. Mikel Arteta believes the Sporting star would be a perfect option for the Premier League, so Arsenal are willing to spend big on him.

United or Chelsea haven’t offered the striker a formal proposal close to the North London club’s potential offer. Hence, Arteta’s side are the favorites in this race.

Gyokeres has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe in recent years. After making 58 goal contributions last term, he has scored 44 goals and registered 11 assists in all competitions this season.

Like the Red Devils, Arsenal also have issues in their No.9 position as Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus haven’t been able to help the Emirates club win the Premier League title.

Man Utd have been in turmoil, while Arsenal have established themselves as the title contenders. They are a more stable club and are in a much better sporting position so the Emirates Stadium might be a more appealing destination for Gyokeres, despite the Amorim factor at United.
