Manchester United supporters were far from pleased by the club’s performance during the final pre-season game against Bayern Munich.
Jose Mourinho’s side had come into the friendly after a morale-boosting triumph over Real Madrid but their performance at the Allianz Arena was far from impressive.
In the absence of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford was given the chance to lead the line but the Englishman could not make much of an impression with United mustering just one shot on target through the game.
De Gea deserves better than this humiliation for real. #mufc #FCBMUN

Defensively sound. Attacking non existent. Passing in Bayern half poor.

Call it what you want but this is dreadful #mufc

Pre season is no excuse for the sane rubbish defensive tactics. Stop kidding yourselves everything will be fine #MUFC

Lack of ideas from United in the first half, almost the entire 45mins has been played in our half.
Only positive is Lindelof and Bailly look like a nice center half partnership. #mufc

Despite being poor upfront, United did manage to provide a solid display on the defensive point of view and hopefully, an average pre-season is not an indicator on how the new Premier League campaign may pave.
Of late, United supporters have been craving for a possible addition in the attack but as things stand, the focus is more on the backline with a new central defender being targeted before the transfer deadline.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Toby Alderweireld has been highlighted as the prime target with reports suggesting that a deal worth £60m could be finalised in the next 48 hours.
Manchester United start their Premier League campaign with a home game against Leicester City on Friday where Romelu Lukaku should be involved after returning to first-team training.
