Manchester United have been given bad news, with Inter Milan trying to lure Marko Arnautovic to the San Siro this summer, reports the Mirror.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from West Ham United after impressing in 2017/18, but United’s bid to bring the Austrian to Old Trafford could be hampered by Inter’s interest.
Arnautovic joined West Ham from Stoke City last summer and went on to score and create 17 goals in 28 Premier League starts in his debut season at the London Stadium.
The Austrian international helped to keep United in the top flight and finds himself inundated with interest from a host of clubs in Europe. Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho briefly worked with Arnautovic at Inter Milan and could renew acquaintances with the forward if they can agree a deal.
According to reports from Italy, Inter want to include midfielder Joao Mario in a deal for Arnautovic and were said to have been in talks with the Austrian international’s agent this week.
West Ham had Mario on loan last season and want to make the deal permanent. They may have to give up the 29-year-old to land their man.
Well done Inter you save me moaning about another pensioner at Old Trafford. Thank you and please consider buying Rakatic, Willian and Boating.
