Bad news as Man United could be without six players for Swansea City clash: report

Jose Mourinho

Manchester United could find themselves without as many as six players for this weekend’s Premier League game against Swansea City. The Red Devils are currently placed second in the top-flight standings, and maintain the position is likely to be a priority for the remainder of the season.

Jose Mourinho is due to offer an official injury update on his first-team players on Thursday, but prior to that, United’s official website has given a hint on possible candidates, who could miss Saturday’s game at Old Trafford.

Both Paul Pogba and Ashley Young had picked up knocks whilst playing for France and England respectively on international duty, but it is suggested that the pair are likely to be deemed fit for the weekend encounter.

However, there are doubts over the potential involvement of Scott McTominay and Sergio Romero, with the latter having withdrawn from the Scotland squad earlier in the week with a tight calf muscle.

Romero, on the other hand, suffered an injury after colliding with Spain’s Diego Costa during an international friendly for Argentina, and his absence could offer a rare opportunity for Joel Pereira to start on the bench.

Aside from the quartet, Phil Jones and Daley Blind have been the long-term absentees as they continue to step up their recovery from hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.
