Bailly and Rashford start, 3-4-2-1: Alternate Man United lineup to face Liverpool

Manchester United are at Old Trafford this weekend for a key Premier League meeting versus Liverpool. United secured a dramatic comeback win over Crystal Palace on Monday night, and Jose Mourinho will want to maintain the momentum against the Reds, with the runner-up position on the line.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Lineup:

David de Gea has failed to keep clean sheets in any of the previous three Premier League games, but he has been up to his task of restricting the opposition. The Spaniard made a world-class save to deny Christian Benteke on Monday, but the fans will hope that he has a quieter afternoon on Saturday.

At the back, Jose Mourinho may opt for more defensive security by switching to a three-man central defence. In this instance, Eric Bailly is a strong candidate to start alongside Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof.

Both Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young were far off from their best form against Palace, and Mourinho could swap the latter with Luke Shaw on the day. Valencia and Shaw will likely slot into the right and left wing-back positions respectively.

Paul Pogba has been termed as an injury doubt for the Reds game, and should this be the case, we are fancying Scott McTominay to take the Frenchman’s position and partner Nemanja Matic in the central midfield.

Marcus Rashford looked lively after making the field of play during the second-half of the Palace game and we fancying him to feature alongside Alexis Sanchez in an attack combination behind Romelu Lukaku.
