Barca blow as Man Utd lead to secure key signing – Report

United Old Trafford

Ruben Amorim’s stint at Sporting CP was nothing short of path-breaking for his own career. It was his excellent tactical acumen as the Portuguese club’s manager that earned him the chance to take over the project at Old Trafford which he is trying to build from scratch.

During his time in Portugal, Amorim showed immense trust in youth. A number of young players emerged under him and have since gone on to become stars at various European clubs. One would expect him to follow the same template at Man Utd as well.

Keeping an eye out on talented youngsters and convincing them to believe in the project at Man Utd cannot be easy.

It is important to show them a clear path to the first team and Ruben Amorim’s track record could help him convince some of these players to join the English club.

Now, as per report published by Fabrizio Romano on Give Me Sport, Man Utd are leading the likes of Barcelona to sign talented Arsenal youngster Ayden Heaven.

The 2006-born central defender has a contract on the table from the Gunners but it looks like the Red Devils are a more appealing destination.

Standing tall at 6 feet and 3 inches, Heaven has the physical attributes to play in central defense. Eintracht Frankfurt have also made an approach for the youngster but it must be mentioned that currently, the Red Devils and Ruben Amorim are favorites to land his signature.

Man Utd are no strangers to snapping up talented youngsters from under Arsenal’s noses.

Back in the summer, Chido-Obi Martin, who was once a huge prodigy in London made the switch to Manchester and similarly, the Red Devils will be hoping for Ayden Heaven to follow the same path.

It remains to be seen what the path is for Ayden Heaven. The priority right now for the teenager is to move to Carrington and continue his development.

He can take solace from the fact there is a manager in the first-team who would be willing to give him a chance and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
