According to the Daily Star, Bayern Munich could agree a deal with Manchester United for Anthony Martial whose ‘future is unclear’. Tottenham Hotspur are still keen on his signature too.
Agent Philippe Lamboley revealed the 22-year-old could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer after losing his place in the starting lineup last season and Bayern are looking to capitalise on the situation.
Martial joined United from AS Monaco in 2015 and has gone on to score and create 62 goals in 136 games. The French international even contributed an impressive 20 goals in all competitions last season, but he lost his place to January-arrival Alexis Sanchez and wasn’t too pleased about it.
Martial spent the second-half of the previous campaign wither being substituted on or substitute off and might be on the move if a suitor matches his £70m asking price.
Bayern are looking to strengthen their attack this summer, as Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery aren’t getting any young and will eventually need replacing. Martial can play out wide on either flank and through the middle, which reportedly interests the perennial champions.
United are still keen to tie Martial down to a new contract, but if the forward won’t agree to an extension they may be forced to cash in. The Daily Star say £70m will be his price tag.
