Manchester United supporters were encouraged by the performance of Anthony Martial, who stepped up in the absence of Romelu Lukaku with a head injury. The Frenchman slotted in the opening goal against Everton with a cool finish from just outside the box, and this enabled United to end their winless streak with a 2-0 triumph.
With both Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic sidelined, Martial was given the nod ahead of Marcus Rashford upfront, and the Frenchman put in a strong performance in the second-half , which pleased the club’s faithful. Martial’s goal on the day was followed up by another strike from Jesse Lingard, both of which were assisted by Paul Pogba, who had one of his best games in the United shirt for a while.
My word that was stunning! Beautiful from Martial. That’s what the game needed, one bit of world class football.

Mata and Pogba good in the build-up but a brilliant finish from Martial. Best finisher at United.

Martial’s averaged a goal every 56 minutes this year. Unstoppable.

Martial has often been played on the left side of the attack, and he sent a strong message to the manager after his impressive opener. With Lukaku out, the former AS Monaco man has the platform to impress Jose Mourinho further with a string of top-notch performances, and the fans will be hoping for the same from the Frenchman.
