Manchester United supporters were pleased with the impact made by Paul Pogba during Friday night’s Premier League opener against Leicester City.
Pogba had not featured in a single pre-season game for United amid his World Cup exploits with France but he was nevertheless handing a starting spot with the captain’s armband.
Within the first few minutes, Pogba managed to pull United ahead via the penalty spot and the Frenchman thereafter led by example with his fluent distribution from the centre of the park.
As such, the fans were overwhelmed by the showing of the Frenchman, who has managed to start the campaign on a positive note after the criticism received during the backend of the previous campaign.
Solid debut from Fred.
Luke Shaw MOTM display.
Andreas Pereira very impressive.
Eric Bailly & Paul Pogba faultless.Loved Mourinho’s comments at FT. High praise for everybody, especially Andreas and Shaw. I haven’t seen José this positive since his arrival.

Fred had a great debut, but you can't overlook Pogba's performance. He's nowhere near full fitness and yet plays 80 minutes of solid football for a hard-earned 3 points. Pogba for me.

Don't understand how people still don't rate Paul Pogba. He is a big game player. He is a leader. He is a world cup champion.

Despite attaining World Cup glory with France, the supporters were unsure as to which kind of player would be returning to Old Trafford, where he has been largely inconsistent.
However, he has managed to start the season with a bang with no faults with his game and hopefully, he can maintain the same vein of form to propel United to the Premier League crown.
It could be noted that Pogba begun quite similarly during the previous campaign before getting injured and Mourinho may need to gauge the Frenchman’s fitness at the early phase of the season.
