A few days ago, Catalan source, Sport, (via Paisley Gates) reported that Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool are trying to sign the 19-year-old, who is valued at 40 million euros (£34.6million) by the Saints.

However, the former Man City player has agreed to join the Merseysiders and the Anfield club are moving to get his signing done.

According to an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Liverpool have made progress and are closing in to sign Lavia from the St. Mary’s outfit.

Jurgen Klopp has convinced the player to move to Anfield and the Reds are looking to get the deal done by the end of July.

Lavia is still inexperienced but the fact that top European clubs, including Barcelona, have been after him indicates he is extremely talented.

United paid a lot to sign Casemiro and he helped us qualify for the Champions League but Ten Hag needs depth and a long term solution for the position.

There is a reason the manager was so keen on signing Frenkie de Jong last summer. Casemiro will turn 32 next year and Man Utd must sign a new No.6.

With Lavia close to Liverpool, who should United lure to improve the midfield at Old Trafford?
