Manchester United supporters were far from pleased with the performance of midfielder Paul Pogba during Saturday’s 2-2 Premier League draw on the road to Southampton.
The Red Devils had come into the game on the back of successive winless matches in the top-flight and they face the worst possible beginning after the Saints took a 2-0 lead before the halfway stage of the first period.
Jose Mourinho’s side managed to make a quick comeback before the interval with Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera finding the scoresheet but that was not sufficient to hand them the maximum points on the day.
Following the game, a section of the United supporters were unimpressed with the performance of Pogba, who undoubtedly endured one of his worst performances since rejoining the club.
The Frenchman was only a second half substitute during the recent 1-0 Champions League win at Young Boys but much was expected from him against a Southampton team reeling near the bottom.
However, the midfielder surprisingly appeared disinterested with the proceedings for vast periods of the first half and this was pretty much the same after the interval with him being guilty of losing possession on countless occasions.
As such, this certainly did not impress a section of the faithful who expressed their disappointment via Twitter.
Mourinho said United players need to play with their brain. Paul Pogba has seemed brainless today.

What have I just seen from Pogba. It actually seems like he's doing it on purpose. Haven't seen him like this. Actually looked uninterested.
Unacceptable today. No clue why.— All For United? (@allforunited) December 1, 2018
From watching the game near enough pitchside today, I have come to the conclusion that we have no defence (which was why Matic was playing CB in the 1st half) and reaffirmed my belief that Pogba is a lazy fucking bastard that gives the ball away constantly! He needs to go! #mufc pic.twitter.com/TkbchK1iRD

Pogba is a disgrace today, with all the talent he has ?

With a key Premier League clash against Arsenal in midweek, it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman would retain his starting role, given Mourinho seemed to indirectly put the blame on the midfielder after the club’s failure to find the winner.
United are presently placed seventh in the standings with 22 points and the title pursuit appears pretty much done already with a 16-point difference to Manchester City after just 14 matches into the campaign.
