Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to be interested in the signature of 14-year-old Rochdale sensation Luke Matheson, according to The Sun.
Matheson has been a star at the Rochdale academy in recent years and he is regarded as one of the most promising talents to come through from England.
As the youngster has been impressing for the youth setup of the League One side, he already looks set to break into the Dale’s first team in the foreseeable future.
Now according to reports from the Sun, Matheson has also attracted the attention of the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, both of whom are interested in landing the promising footballer with hopes of grooming him into a top talent for the future.
Although Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho does not have the best records in giving young talents chances in the first team, the Portuguese tactician has shown a change in approach in recent seasons.
He has uncharacteristically given first team opportunities to the likes of Angel Gomes and Scott McTominay recently and Matherson could harbor hopes of earning the same opportunities in the coming years if he joins United.
