According to reports from the Irish Independent, Manchester United’s hopes of signing Serge Aurier from PSG could be handed a blow by Chelsea.
Antonio Valencia has been a wonderful servant for Manchester United over the years but it has to be said that the Ecuadorian star is not getting any younger and the Red Devils will be well served to find a replacement for the 32-year-old sooner rather than later.
As a result, manager Jose Mourinho is currently believed to be in the market to sign PSG star Serge Aurier as a replacement for Valencia and the move seemed to be a realistic possibility as the Ivorian has been made available for a transfer by the Ligue 1 side this summer.
In a huge blow to United’s hopes of signing Aurier though, the Irish Independent have gone on to reveal that even Chelsea have joined in the race to sign the 24-year-old and the Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be desperate to land his services.
Chelsea missed out on Danilo to Manchester City earlier on into the window and due to this fact, a frustrated Conte is said to be looking to pull out all the stops in order to land Aurier – which will serve as bad news for United.
