Club respond to Man United’s £85million offer for star – Reports

Osimhen Nigeria center forward

Manchester United are heavily linked with Nigerian international and Napoli center forward, Victor Osimhen.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s representative, Jorge Mendes, has this crazy proposal to ensure that his client plays Champions League football this season.

Transfer: 29-capped star agrees contract to sign for Manchester United – Move close

As per reports in the Italian media (news image provided below), the super agent has brought a massive proposal from Man United that would see Osimhen move to Old Trafford on a permanent deal, on the other hand, Ronaldo would move to Napoli on loan.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the offer on the table for the African striker is worth 100 million euros (£85million).

Moreover, the Naples-based side will only have to pay 4-5 million euros a year of Ronaldo’s 24 million euros a year salary. The remaining will be paid by the Old Trafford outfit.

However, the Serie A side have responded in a fashion that United, Ronaldo and Mendes would probably not like.

As per La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Napoli president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has made it clear that £85million (100 million euros) is not going to be enough and the 23-year-old striker will only be sold if the asking price of 130 million euros is met.

On the other hand, he would be willing to take Ronaldo on loan but only if Manchester United completely pay the salary of the Portuguese striker.

GdS claim that the counter-proposal made by the Serie A side will unlikely be accepted but De Laurentiis wil not budge from his demands.

With time running out, it will be intriguing to see the next move in this transfer saga. For now, it seems that Ronaldo is going nowhere and Osimhen will stay put as well.
