PSV coach Phillip Cocu has stoked the flames surrounding Memphis Depay’s move to Manchester United, refusing to deny that the player and his representative had met with Manchester United this week.
With PSV wrapping up the title last weekend, talk of a Depay move to United have picked up speed. A number of rumours have been circulating with some even claiming that Depay flew to England to hold talks yesterday.
Whilst that is yet to be confirmed, talk of a meeting between the two parties to thrash out a deal to take the Dutch international to Old Trafford persist and with PSV coach Cocu refusing to confirm or deny, United fans are licking their lips at the prospect of the starlet joining their ranks.
When asked about the transfer, Cocu said:
“It’s not me who’s in a position to confirm that Depay spoke with United.
“I can’t say that there hasn’t been a meeting between Depay and United. But I can’t confirm it as well.”
Depay has scored 20 goals in 27 games for PSV as they captured the title, breaking 4 years of dominance by Ajax.
