Concrete bids ‘expected’ as Man Utd look to sign £68m and £51m stars – Report

Goncalo Inacio - Portugal

Manchester United are linked with not one but two Sporting CP central defenders in the form of Ousmande Diomande and Goncalo Inacio.

According to a story covered by Record today (press image provided below), the Lions are ‘expected’ to receive concrete bids for their prized asset and have eyes on reinforcing their backline.

The Lisbon club are currently on top of the Primeira Liga table but only have a point more than title holders, Benfica.

Their priority is to hold on to all the key players this month but will not be able to do anything if their respective release clauses are met.

Diomande’s current contract with Sporting has an exit clause of £68m (80m euros), on the other hand, Inacio’s deal has a termination clause of £51m (60 million euros).

If not this month, then for certain in the summer, the Liga Nos giants expect solid bids to arrive as rich clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Madrid are following the duo.

Record claim the above mentioned clubs have observed the Ivorian and the Portuguese and some even held meetings, which ‘at the end of the line’ may result in formal offers.

It is stated that the offers may even reach the termination clauses, so, the Jose Alvalade outfit are already preparing to take action to replace Diomande and Inacio.

At Old Trafford, senior stars like Varane, Magurie, Lindelof and Evans are past their primes and must be replaced, on the other hand, Martinez has been highly injury prone.

Have your say – Should Man Utd splash the cash to secure the double signing of Diomande and Inacio from Sporting?
