Brazilian footballer Andreas Pereira has reportedly impressed Jose Mourinho with his qualities in pre-season and he is expected to earn a spot under the Portuguese for the 2018/19 campaign.
Pereira has enjoyed loan spells with Granada and Valencia over the past two seasons and he has now matured into a better footballer after showcasing his talents during the recent pre-season tour of the United States.
According to The Mirror, the 22-year-old has finally managed to end the trust of the head coach and he is supposedly in line to start the Premier League opener versus Leicester City with several regulars absent.
After two season-long loans, Pereira had the perfect platform to impress in the absence of key players and he has done exactly that after racking 433 minutes in the United States tour – more than any other teammate.
Earlier last term, there had been a suggestion that Pereira may struggle for gametime after operating in a wider position with Valencia but he has managed to quickly shift into a central role, where Mourinho sees his future.
Aside from his strong distribution skills from the centre of the park, the midfielder has also shown quality from free-kicks with a sublime goal versus Liverpool last month and it will be interesting to see how he fares when the real competition kicks on.
Pereira you’re good player & good in free-kick. Keep it up, you will shine forever
