Confirmed – Man Utd starting XI formation vs Wolverhampton

Varane-France

Manchester United will play their first game of the New Year in an hour against Wolverhampton Wanderers and the starting lineup is out.

The biggest surprise is the inclusion of Phil Jones. The 29-year-old is making his first appearance for the first team this term in the absence of injured captain Harry Maguire.

Jones will start with French international and summer signing, Raphael Varane in the central defense in front of David De Gea. In the fullback positions, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw have managed to retain their starting places.

There is no change in the midfield as well. McTominay and Matic are playing again and Fred finds himself on the bench.

In the attack, Fernandes has returned to the squad but the Seleccao playmaker is only on the bench. Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are starting again.

With Maguire out, veteran superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is the captain for today’s fixture against Wolves and he starts up front with Cavani.
