Confirmed: Manchester United without five players for Spurs clash, but Bailly could return

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has provided an injury update prior to Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Speaking to MUTV, the gaffer revealed that there is nothing new on the injury front barring Eric Bailly, who could start his first appearance since returning to first-team training.

The centre-back sustained a groin problem during a World Cup qualifier earlier this month, and this has kept him out of recent outings against Liverpool and Huddersfield Town.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old was also reluctant to speak on Harry Kane’s hamstring injury as he listed the United players, who are definitely out for tomorrow’s league game.

Mourinho said: “Nobody is back. Jones was on the bench the other day and is okay. Bailly is a possibility. We have no Zlatan Ibrahimovic, no Paul Pogba, no Marouane Fellaini, no Marcos Rojo, no Michael Carrick, so don’t speak to me about Harry Kane.”

United are presently five points behind league leaders Manchester City, and a victory over Spurs could add some pressure to Pep Guardiola’s side, who face West Bromwich Albion later in the day.

Mourinho came up with a defensive approach during the 0-0 draw at Liverpool earlier this month, but the fans could be rest assured that the manager will go for the win against a Kane-less Spurs.
