Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has provided an injury update on his first-team squad ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League meeting versus Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Speaking to MUTV, the Portuguese tactician confirmed the return of Marouane Fellaini to the first-team squad after recovering from a knee problem, which required a minor surgery last month.
Meanwhile, there was also positive news regarding the fitness of Eric Bailly, who is now said to be fully fit to make a long-awaited league start against Jurgen Klopp’s side on Saturday.
“Yeah, he [Bailly] was fully fit for a couple of weeks. Yeah, but he’s okay. The only one that is back to the team is Fellaini.” Mourinho said.
Aside from this, the squad is expected to be more of the same from the previous weekend with Anthony Martial having not recovered from his injury, whilst Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind remain on the sidelines with their respective knocks.
Ander Herrera remains a long-term absentee with a hamstring problem incurred against Sevilla last month, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic completes the unavailable list – as he continues to build up his fitness after a minor recurrence of his knee problem.
Update: According to ESPN, Paul Pogba is another potential doubt for the Liverpool game after being forced off the pitch through injury during a first-team training session on Friday.
