Confirmed XI: United Side To Face Barcelona

United’s tour of the US continues with the toughest test imaginable- a game against European giants Barcelona. Although it may be a ‘friendly’ we can expect a hard game as the Catalan outfit will be keen to impress their American fans as well as claiming a big scalp during their Summer tour.

The big news for United is the return of David De Gea, while Bastian Schweinsteiger misses out with a slight knock. Here’s how the Reds line up:

David De Gea, Matteo Darmian, Phil Jones, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick, Morgan Schneiderlin, Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney.

Already a few fans are suggesting this could be the team to face Spurs for the Premier League opener but with Schweinsteiger to come back into the side and maybe Chris Smalling it’s a bit premature to start thinking like that. A win today would be a good lift for the Reds and give them confidence going into the season.
