The future of Saul Niguez at Atletico Madrid is up in the air and it is possible that he might end up moving to Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils have been interested in luring the Spanish international for a long time and the latest reports seem positive.
Transfer: Deal close – Man Utd agree contract to sign £10million-a-year star
As per today’s version of Mundo Deportivo (press image provided below), the La Roja star is determined to leave the newly crowned La Liga champions, who would demand a fee of 80 million euros from his sale.
The famous Spanish news source have mentioned that over the years, Saul has been an important figure for the Rojiblancos but after a not so impressive campaign, they would not mind losing him if the price is right.
It is claimed that the 26-year-old player wants a change of scenery for next season and there are not shortage of suitors, who would like to hire his services.
As far as Man Utd are concerned, last summer, the Old Trafford club were reportedly willing to agree a £150,000-a-week deal (The Daily Star) to sign the midfielder from Atletico, however, the move did not happen.
Mundo Deportivo have mentioned that United have always dreamt of hiring the services of Saul, they still do and have made contact with the Wanda Metropolitano outfit to finally sign him.
The good news for Man Utd is that even though there is competition, the £115,000-a-week player’s preference is to move to Old Trafford (The People). We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
