Transfer: Report – Man United have moved in to sign £50million star – Face competition
As per today’s version of Jornal de Noticias (press image provided below), Man Utd are preparing to make one last move to secure the signing of the 27-year-old left back.
The famous Portuguese media outlet have mentioned that the Old Trafford club want to get his signing done before the closure of the transfer window.
Porto are demanding a fee of 20 million euros, on the other hand, Manchester United want to spend less and that is why the transfer saga is dragging on at the moment.
Telles was not only solid at the back for the Liga Nos giants last term but also proved to be brilliant in the attack. In the title winning campaign, he directly contributed in 19 goals (11 goals and 8 assists) in just 28 Primeira Liga starts.
This season, the South American star has already scored 2 goals and provided an assist in 2 appearances. On Saturday night, he featured for 78 minutes in a contest that Porto won 5-0 vs Boavista.
Man United have let in 5 goals in the opening two Premier League fixtures and Solskjaer has to improve his back-line. Left back is one of the weakest links and the position must be reinforced as quickly as possible.
In your view, should Man United splash 20 million euros to secure the signing of an experienced star like Alex Telles?
just make the deal done even without Sancho deal
In the current climate, 20m euros does not buy much so if Telles is as good as they say, the price seems more than reasonable. At 27 he’s not over the hill and has at least 3 or 4 years of playing time in him, barring serious injuries. I say grab him instead of the usual shuffle and skiffle routine Woodward is so good at.
