Man Utd could agree deal for £365k-per-week star who’s ‘made the decision to leave Real Madrid’

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Manchester United could agree a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo who has ‘made the decision to leave Real Madrid’. The £365k-per-week star was promised a new deal by president Florentino Perez but the Real chief hasn’t stayed true to his word.

Ronaldo’s existing deal has three years to run, meaning he’ll be 36 when the contract expires. Real might feel his playing career could be finished by then, but his numbers haven’t shown much of a decline yet. The Portuguese international recently bagged a hat-trick in the World Cup against Spain and netted 44 goals in all competitions for Los Blancos last season.

United have kept an interest in their former player and could look to capitalise on the situation. If Ronaldo is unhappy at the Santiago Bernabéu, the Red Devils could bring him back to Old Trafford where his career took off. The 33-year-old made over 290 appearances for United between 2003 and 2009, winning three Premier League titles, two League Cups one FA Cup and one Champions League.

He wouldn’t come cheap, however, with a release clause of £876m, but United could agree a deal for considerably less given his advancing age will underpin his lower value.
