Cristiano Ronaldo Urging Real Madrid to Sign Man United Attacker

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is believed to be keen on his side bringing Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes to the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Don Balon.

Gomes is regarded as one of the brightest prospects for the future by the Manchester United coaching staff and the youngster has already made his first team debut for the Red Devils against Crystal Palace in the final day of the Premier League campaign last season, at the age of just 16.

The Manchester local is yet to sign a professional contract with United but many already expect the 17-year-old to follow in the footsteps of Marcus Rashford and Jese Lingard and establish himself as a first team regular at United in the not so distant future.

However, United’s plans for Gomes to replicate the exploits of Rashford might suffer a huge blow as the youngster has allegedly had his head turned by Real Madrid and considering the fact that the player has not yet signed a new contract, he could well leave Old Trafford for the Santiago Bernabeu.

Now as a further cause for concern, Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged his club to chase Gomes and this has left United fearing they will lose the talented midfielder in a similar fashion as they did with Paul Pogba, who departed for Juventus a few years ago.

Gomes looks like the real deal and many individuals associated with the Red Devils youth system have spoken very highly of the young midfielder.

Ex-United youth coach Paul McGuiness went as far as to compare Gomes with Andre Iniesta and David Silva saying, “If he was Brazilian, people would be raving about him and, if he was six inches taller, people would be going mad.

“I suppose that’s our country. People doubt players if they’re short in stature but no-one is doubting Andres Iniesta or David Silva. He’s got the potential to be that type of player and, in England, you just don’t get many players like that.”

Gomes definitely seem to have the talent to make it at the highest level and it will be of paramount importance for United to keep hold of the teenage sensation amid interest in him from Ronaldo and Madrid.
