Cristiano Ronaldo wants Manchester United return, says ex-Real boss

Former Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo could prefer a reunion with Manchester United to reunite with manager Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese superstar hinted that he could leave Los Blancos after securing the fifth Champions League crown of his career and there have since been doubts whether he would remain at the Bernabeu next season

Speaking to Sky Italia, via The Sun, the former England and Real manager Capello has added fire to the ongoing speculation by claiming Ronaldo wants to return to ‘United alongside Mourinho’, he said: “I think that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to go back to Manchester, to play for United and being coached by his compatriot Mourinho. I think he will eventually leave Madrid to go back to England. When? This I don’t know.”

Ronaldo has nothing to prove at Los Blancos after helping them secure a third straight Champions League title. Regardless of this, club president Florentino Perez does not seem to have any interest in listening to offers and he recently affirmed that the Portuguese would stay put in the Spanish capital for another campaign.

Nevertheless, United supporters would undoubtedly relish watching Ronaldo in the United shirt once more but the club, for now, appear keen on signing teammate Gareth Bale instead. The Welshman is evaluating his future after receiving limited gametime last season but he could change his stance after manager Zinedine Zidane surprising left his role at Los Blancos.
