As per reports in the media, Matthijs de Ligt is about to move to Manchester United from Bayern Munich.
According to Fussball.news, the Dutch international has reached a ‘full’ agreement over a five year contract with the Red Devils.
Transfer: ‘Agreement in sight’ – Man United now close in on £41.9million plus bonuses signing – Report
The Old Trafford outfit are in the process of agreeing a transfer fee with the German Bundesliga giants to complete the deal
The news source have mentioned that Man Utd are prepared to pay a package of €50million to sign the central defender.
However the amount of the initial payment and the objectives of the deal have not been clarified as yet.
Nevertheless, it is stated that there is no doubt the move will go ahead and De Ligt will end up signing for Manchester United.
Last season, Ten Hag’s backline was absolutely poor mainly due to injuries to several key defenders and next season, he will be without four time CL winner, Raphael Varane.
To replace the retired French international, a proven quality central defender must be signed and De Ligt, who has won league titles in the Netherlands, Italy and Germany, would be a top addition.
The 24-year-old star takes home a salary of around £13.7million a year at the Allianz Arena.
He has agreed a five year deal until 2029 to move to Old Trafford but the wages have not been revealed as yet and we will update as soon as we find out.
