Deal close – Club have agreed £11million terms to sign Man Utd player – Journalist

Man Utd Jones Smalling

Manchester United hired the services of Harry Maguire last summer and opted to loan out Chris Smalling to Roma.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Italian club are ready to agree a new loan deal for the 30-year-old center back in order to sign him permanently next year.

Transfer: Man Utd are leading to secure signing of £60million star – Report

According to Nicolo Schira, Smalling is getting closer to joining the Giallorossi on a permanent basis. The renowned journalist tweeted that Roma are in talks to agree a 3 million euro loan deal that would make it obligatory for them to buy the player for 15 million euros next year.

Schira further mentioned that Roma have already agreed terms worth 12 million euros (£11million) with Smalling until 2024.

The veteran defender won every domestic title for Manchester United and was a key member of the squad that won the Europa League title under the management of Jose Mourinho.

He served the club well but United needed to tighten things up at the back and when Maguire was lured, Smalling had to be sacrificed.

Since the departure of the 31-capped international, our defense has improved a lot as compared to last season, so, we do not miss him and there is no need to bring him back.

Should we sign a replacement? I do not think so because the likes of Bailly, Lindelof, Jones and Tuanzebe are there.

In such a scenario, Solskjaer should focus on improving other key departments. He has not reinforced the midfield since joining the club, but for now, things in the center of the park seem perfectly fine. There would be no need to improve the midfield if Pogba stays.

However, the offense must be improved. We need a 20+ goal striker (PL) to seriously challenge for the Premier League title next season.

  1. I’m Desmond by name and I’m a Manchester united fan with the way things are going it would be much better if solskjaer could sign dybala or Douglas Costa
Or maybe the two if possible anyway
