Manchester United have been linked with England international and Leicester City star Harry Maguire for quite some time and the latest reports seem very positive for the Red Devils.
According to The Independent, the signing of the Three Lions central defender is close after the Old Trafford club and the Foxes made a breakthrough over a deal worth £80million.

The renowned British source have claimed that Man Utd have offered acceptable terms, with around £10million agreed in conditional clauses, to sign the former Hull City player.
The Red Devils regularly conceded goals in the last campaign. As far as their central defense is concerned, the likes of Smalling and Jones were lured by Alex Ferguson and the duo agreed new deals with the club earlier this year.
Marcos Rojo was signed by Dutch boss Louis van Gaal and the Argentine international has been highly injury prone (Transfermarkt). On the other hand, the likes of Bailly and Lindelof were lured by Mourinho.
The dilemma is that not even one of the above mentioned central defenders has stepped up to command the back-line.
Van Dijk is the leader of Liverpool’s defense and Koulibaly effectively commands the back-line at Napoli. Similarly, Solskjaer needs a top quality star, who can be the leader of the defense at Old Trafford and solve the defensive woes once and for all.
Maguire has done well for the Foxes and cemented his place in the English national team but moving to Manchester United would be a whole new level and a huge step up his career.
If he does end up signing for the 20-time English champions for a fee worth £80million, then he will become the most expensive defender in the history of the game and that will only increase pressure on him.

When lfc paid £75m for van dygk, many people thought he’s not worth the amount, but now it has been a bargain for Liverpool. so in my own opinion since united are not able to get a suitable alternative for maguirre there is no need of wasting much time any longer, just sign up this guy as well as Bruno Fernandez before its too late and we will turn out to regret everything.

Not even close to value. I personally wouldn’t pay the same amount for him as I would for Alderweireld. There is something fishy going on here. Three times tghe price for a mediocre CB? Try and explain that. There are cheaper, better, younger options so one wonders what is the obsession to sign him? Tuanzebe is an obvious option. No cost, much younger, quicker and all round better.

Harry will be one of the best central defenders in the world if he joins Man United. with a co-player Victor it will be a good combination as they are both hard working players.but Harry should be the leading defender .The good thing about Man United they hv got good attacking players
I would have preferred Koulibaly but in his absence let’s get Maguire. Smalling should be disposed. Rojo should be given more time In the defense this season. Fosu-Mensah and Tuanzebe should play active roles. They should not be loaned out.
Not even worth $25 million. End the pursuit now. Pay the release clause of Alderwiereld and you get a much better CB and time to find a better, not as expensive long term back, or see the full potential of Tuanzebe. Or save money and give Bailly the chance to show what we know he can do. Lindelof started rocky and is fantastic. Him and Bailly would make a great pair. Just please, no Maguire.

80 million? thats quite reasonable but why is it taking alot of time if united really wanted to blow their defensive problems they should not hesitate that much,,
