Transfer: Report – Man Utd told £52m will finally get midfielder signing done – Better than De Jong

The Spanish news source cite reports (The Guardian) and claim that an offer worth 70 million euros plus bonuses will be made by the Old Trafford outfit.

The Catalan media outlet claim that the bid about to be tabled will be very close to the asking price of £68.7million and would therefore be accepted by Barca. It is stated that the 25-year-old wants to stay at the Nou Camp but the offer is beneficial for all parties and the move is inevitable.

Xavi has got ample quality and depth in the midfield department, hence, the departure of the Dutch midfielder is not going to be a blow for the Blaugrana.

It seems that the transfer saga, that has dragged on for far too long, is going to end with Frenkie de Jong finally moving to Manchester United.

Yesterday, Paul Pogba completed his return to Juventus on a free transfer and we already know that Nemanja Matic has left for AS Roma. Therefore, Erik ten Hag needs to improve things in the center and the arrival of the Netherlands international will be a major boost.

The likes of Fred and McTominay have not been good enough and it will be intriguing to see who will start in the midfield next season.

We may see a reunion of De Jong and Van de Beek in the center of the park. The duo performed brilliantly for Ajax under the management of Ten Hag.
