The last couple of seasons for Man Utd have been disastrous for Manchester United, to put it lightly, but one player who has been the shining light in otherwise dark times for the English club is Bruno Fernandes.

The club captain is among the very few players who can walk through the city with their head held high.

News – Done – Man Utd agree £114.5million terms in fee and wages to secure signing

However, the Portuguese star’s future at Man Utd is far from certain. Despite the midfielder being one of the club’s best players under Ruben Amorim and the club wanting to keep him at all costs, the player has persistent interest from Saudi Arabia that could become his next destination.

As per journalist, Ben Jacobs, Al-Hilal are now confident an agreement to sign Bruno this summer is close.

The player on his part is keen to consult with his family before deciding on whether or not to make the move this summer.

The journalist has mentioned that Al-Hilal want a response from the player by Friday. They are yet to enter club-to-club negotiations with Manchester United but are confident that they can get a deal done if the player gives them the green light.

Bruno currently earns around £350,000-a-week at Man Utd. Should he leave the club, it would free up wage room for him at the club and this could help them make solid reinforcements this summer. It would resemble cutting off an arm to save the body.

Fernandes – Indispensable for Man Utd

The 30-year-old has played 57 games for Man Utd across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 20 assists.

He has a contract with the club until 2027 and if he isn’t going to renew his contract, cashing out this summer would earn the club the best value.

Bruno adds a lot of quality to the team. His importance, both as a player and a leader to this Man Utd team, cannot be understated.

He is the creative fulcrum around which the Red Devils operate and his loss will be tough to contend with in the short term.

However, if the player is keen on leaving this summer, Man Utd will have to be brave enough to let him go.

There are replacements in the market that they could target. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the talented Portuguese playmaker.
