Wolves left-back Ruben Vinagre has expressed his desire of playing under Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in the near future.
Ruben Vinagre is a talented Portuguese U-18 international and is currently playing for Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan from AS Monaco.
The youngster has shown great promise in his time with Wolves so far this season in the second tier of English football and has played a huge role in the Wanderers’ rise to the top of the table.
As a result of his fine performances, many teams from the Premier League are reportedly interested in Vinagre, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea all involved in the chase for the talented left-back.
Now in a recent interview, the 18-year-old defender has revealed that his preferred destination is Premier League giants Manchester United and has also expressed his desire to play under Red Devils’ manager Jose Mourinho.
When asked about United, Vinagre said, “United is a great club and a dream, like other big clubs in England and Spain.
“At the time, I was very focused on United, because it was a great opportunity… But then the other proposals were studied and I, together with my advisors, thought that the best project for my development would be Monaco.”
While speaking about Mourinho, the young defender said, “Yes, of course, it doesn’t happen today, but it can happen at another time, who knows. Now I’m focused on the club where I am.”
Considering the promise Vinagre has shown so far, the teenager might indeed get to feature for Manchester United in the near future if he continues his wonderful growth.
