Dimitar Berbatov: This is where Manchester United will finish this season

Former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov has backed Manchester United to win their 21st top-flight title under Jose Mourinho this season.

The Red Devils have made a fine start to the league campaign with three victories in their opening three games, and Berbatov admits that the Red Devils have the right ammunition to go all the way.

“I watch almost every game and I would like to see them become champions in the end. The squad is great. There is good balance in almost every position, so this will be very helpful in the long [Premier League] season as well as the other competitions they are in. I could see the team was in great shape and they were also really strong as a group,” Berbatov told Goal

Berbatov also had some good words to say about Mourinho, who helped the club secure EFL Cup and Europa League success during his first season in charge, he added: “The coach is great, and the last time I was there to visit the club we had a good chat.”

The Bulgarian footballer had been a free-agent until last month, when he decided to join Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters. The 35-year-old is set for a reunion with former United coach Rene Meulensteen and teammate Wes Brown at the South-Indian outfit.

Manchester United made a similar start to the Premier League campaign last term but they have a relatively easier fixture list this season – with their first big challenge against Liverpool – more than a month away.
