Respected surgeon Dr. Sakari Orava has revealed that Paul Pogba could make a return to full fitness without needing surgery.
Paul Pogba suffered a hamstring injury during Manchester United’s Champions League clash against Basel a few weeks ago and it has been feared that the midfielder could be out of action for as long as 12 weeks due to the problem.
United manager Jose Mourinho is not sure regarding how long Pogba will be ruled out for though and recently revealed that he is still waiting on the diagnosis of the club’s medical staff regarding the matter.
Mourinho had said, “No idea. But it’s a great opportunity for other players to play and I trust them all. I’m not going to cry or be counting the days until Pogba comes back, not at all. When he comes back, welcome, but until then, I trust my people.”
Now Dr. Sakari Orava, who regularly operates on athletes’ muscle issues and he worked with Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele following his ruptured tendon injury, has given his take on Pogba’s hamstring problem and believes that the Frenchman might not need surgery to return back to full fitness.
Providing the positive news, Dr Orava told Finnish outlet HS, “His injury is a little different to Dembele because he can heal without surgery. A decision will be taken next week.
“This kind of problem is usually a sum of many coincidences and is affected by muscle fatigue as well as rapid stopping and quick turning, with the brain going quicker than the feet.”
