Done – Man Utd agree £55million sale and secure signing of “ambitious” player

Manchester United have wrapped up the transfer window and will safely say that they have had one of the better transfer windows in Europe. They brought in five high-quality players whilst also letting a few leave along the way.

Having already sealed up the signings of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui earlier in the transfer window, the final signing that the club had to pull off was Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

To balance the books, Man Utd also agreed to a £55million sale and eventually landed their preferred midfield target this transfer window.

McTominay left for Naples for around £30m whilst Sancho has joined Chelsea on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy for around £25m.

Ugarte on the other hand signed for the Red Devils for around £50.5m including add-ons. Effectively, they have cancelled out these two sales with this one signing and also strengthened their squad in the meantime.

After signing for the Red Devils, Manuel Ugarte explained why he chose to come to Man Utd this summer of all clubs. Here is what he had to say:

“The project that the football leadership discussed with me is extremely exciting; Manchester United is an ambitious club and I am an ambitious player.”

Erik ten Hag has absolutely no excuses for not bringing success to the club this season. The owners have backed him big time in the transfer window, signing players that he wanted and giving him the best chance to make this a winning project.

The Old Trafford outfit have been calling itself ambitious for way too long now without winning the Premier League. It’s about time to stop talking and start walking the talk on the pitch. Man Utd have one of the best squads in the league.

Ugarte, like everything else Man Utd have done so far this summer is a good piece of transfer business. Let’s hope he can live up to his immense potential, not just this season but for the years to come.
