Manchester United went six seasons without even winning a single trophy, and then hired the services of Dutch coach, Erik ten Hag.
The former Ajax man ended the trophy drought by winning the League Cup in his first season, lost in the final of the FA Cup and got us back into the UEFA Champions League.

On the other hand, in the second second, yes we had dismal league and CL campaigns but Ten Hag delivered an even bigger trophy than his first season.
His team outclassed champions, Manchester City, in the final to lift the FA Cup trophy.
Shockingly, the new Man Utd management have decided to reward him by just extending his contract for a year and not giving him a single penny of pay rise.
According to The Mirror, Man Utd have agreed a one year deal that will once again make Ten Hag earn £173,000 a week, £9million a season.
Such a decision indicates two things, first is that Ratcliffe did not really want the manager to stay and the FA Cup win forced him to change his mind.
Second, INEOS do not believe Ten Hag’s achievement deserved a pay rise and renewing for just a single year suggests he is still kind of on probation.
The question is, how is a coach supposed to work to his best knowing that he does not have the full backing of the management?
Have your say – Do you think Erik ten Hag deserved a better reward for his services in the last two years?
INEOS do not trust ETH fully…. Their judgement would be flawed were they to do so given United finished 8th and had a catastrophic UCL in 2023. ETH knows he must do much better,. Well done INEOS for giving him another chance but this is and has to be conditional.
