Manchester United have finally completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and have agreed huge terms to get the deal over the line.
The Red Devils saw two bids turned down before finally reaching an agreement with the Bees to seal the transfer.
News – Man Utd make contact to secure priority signing of £67,000 a week forward – Report
As per today’s edition of The Mirror, the Old Trafford outfit’s third bid worth £71million was accepted by the London club.
United have agreed to pay £65million in fixed fee and the remaining £6million in add-ons and bonuses to lure the Cameroonian international.
As far as the personal terms are concerned, Mbeumo has agreed a contract that will make him earn £200,000 a week, £52million in the next five years. There is also an option for a further year.
Tottenham were also chasing him and were even willing to pay more than United but the player rejected Spurs as he only wanted to join the 20-time English champions
A top signing
Mohamed Salah was the best winger in the Premier League last term as the Egyptian won the Golden Boot after scoring 29 times.
After the Liverpool star, no one was better on the flanks than Bryan Mbeumo. He found scored 20 goals in the league under the guidance Thomas Frank, who recently joined Spurs.
The 25-year-old consistently tormented the defenders in the last campaign and Amorim would hope for a similar output from him at United.
It may seem that Man Utd have paid over the odds to land him. However, £71m is a fair fee for a proven quality Premier League attacker, who is in his peak years.
Liverpool have recently agreed a deal worth £79m to sign French forward, Hugo Ekitike, who has no experience in England and netted 15 goals in the German Bundesliga for Frankfurt last term.
Will Mbeumo be a hit at Manchester United? Let’s wait and watch.
