Manchester United need to bounce back to winning ways after three defeats in a row in all competitions and Erik ten Hag is under a lot of pressure.
The Red Devils travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday (23 September) and Ten Hag will be looking for nothing less than three points.
United are 13th in the league with three defeats from five games already. They are heading into the game on the back of a 4-3 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek and a strong performance is needed.
The Dutchman was missing as many as 11 players in midweek but he will hope to welcome some of his key players back this weekend.
Raphael Varane and Mason Mount are two such players who are likely to return to the squad. Sofyan Amrabat is also in contention to make his debut.
Mount was sidelined for four games with a muscle problem. He is now ready to return, but Ten Hag may use him from the bench only.
Varane has missed the last three games and Ten Hag needs him badly in the first-team. He could return this week in place of Victor Lindelof.
Diego Dalot and Sergio Reguilon are likely to continue along with Andre Onana who made a howler in the defeat against Bayern.
Christian Eriksen could be rested for this one, with Scott McTominay coming in place. Facundo Pellistri started against Bayern, but it’s high time Ten Hag must use Alejandro Garnacho in the right-wing role.
Predicted starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Reguilon; Casemiro, McTominay; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.
