Premier League club Everton are reported to be monitoring the developments of Luke Shaw, who is being seen as a potential replacement for Leighton Baines.
The 22-year-old was public criticised by Jose Mourinho following United’s 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup quarter-final, and reports have since suggested that the left-back has made his mind up to leave the club.
The likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest of late, but according to ESPN, the Toffees have become the newest club to track his situation ahead of a possible summer approach.
Shaw has struggled to win over Mourinho over the course of the season, and it appears that his time at United will certainly conclude during the summer with Ashley Young continuing to impress at left-back.
At 32, Young has probably has a couple of years at best – at the highest level, but unfortunately, Shaw does not look like the player to succeed his compatriot.
The former Southampton graduate saw his contract extended by a further year last month, but that has more or less been done to command a reasonable price from his future sale.
