Ex-Arsenal star says he is not convinced by these two Manchester United signings

Former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson has stated that he is not convinced with Manchester United’s new signings Victor Lindelof and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Manchester United certainly made a huge impact in the summer transfer window by acquiring the services of Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic, Victor Lindelof and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and following the arrival of such high profile players, the Red Devils surely have to be considered contenders for the Premier League title this season.

Lukaku and Matic have started the campaign off in brilliant fashion and have played key roles in helping the Red Devils claim three consecutive victories in the Premier League.

As for Lindelof, he has not featured for United as of yet while Ibrahimovic is only expected to be playing for the Red Devils in January when he returns to full fitness from a serious knee injury.

Arsenal pundit Paul Merson has recently rated United’s transfer activity this summer and has stated that while he is impressed with the duo of Lukaku and Matic, he is not sure that Lindelof and Ibrahimovic will prove to be good signings for the Premier League giants.

Merson told Sky Sports, “I’m not convinced by Victor Lindelof at all, but Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic are very, very good signings and that’s why I’m giving them such a high grade.

“They are two players that they needed and they will make a massive difference to that team. They look like a completely different team with those two players in it and they could be the players to win the Premier League for them.

“I must admit I’m not convinced by Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming back. They are a completely different outfit this season with pace and power up front and I don’t see how he will fit in.”
