Manchester United have been linked with several defenders and one of them is Portuguese starlet, Goncalo Inacio.
Last week, Correio da Manha reported that the Red Devils are favorites to secure the signing of the Sporting CP center half.
More recently, Jornal de Noticias covered a story (press image provided below) and stated that Man United can close the signing by offering around £39million (release clause).
Earlier this month, A Bola claimed that the 20-time English champions are preparing to offer 40 million euros in cash and 5 million euros (£39million) in add-ons to sign the player.
Such an offer has not formalized as yet but it should be good enough to get the signing done.
Inacio was a key member of Ruben Amorim’s side that won the Liga Nos last season and he has been rock solid at the back in the past couple of years.
JN claim that the youngster would be happy to stay as regular game time for the Lions would help in earning a place in the nation’s World Cup squad.
Portugal boss, Andre Santos, did call him up for the national side but thus far, he has not been able to make his debut for the Euro 2016 champions.
The 20-year-old helped Sporting keep 15 clean sheets in the league last season, moreover, in the attacking third, he directly contributed in 6 goals (4 goals and 2 assists).
Manchester United were dismal at the back in the 2021-22 campaign and Ten Hag is looking for a top defender. In your opinion, is Goncalo Inacio good enough to strengthen the defense at Old Trafford?
