Now, reports in Italy also indicate that Man Utd are leading the race to secure the signing of De Ligt.
According to to Tutto Juve, Man Utd are in pole position to lure the former Bianconeri center half from the German champions.
The news source claim the Red Devils are negotiating terms with the representatives of the player, who is going to cost around £42.7million (50 million euros).
In 2022, Bayern paid a fee of £65.6m to get De Ligt from the Old Lady. So, a figure of £42.7million should be considered as a massive bargain for a player yet to hit his peak.
As per Calcio Mercato, Man Utd are seriously considering signing the Netherlands international to replace Raphael Varane at Old Trafford.
The retired French star will turn 31 this year, he is past his prime and has been highly inconsistent for the 20-time English champions.
De Ligt was the Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2019 and has already won league titles in Holland, Italy and Germany.
