According to reports from the Guardian, Manchester United will continue with their pursuit of Ivan Perisic after missing out on Gareth Bale.
With reports emerging that Real Madrid are keen on signing Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Gareth Bale at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Many believe that Bale will be made surplus to requirements at Madrid following the expected arrival of Mbappe and quite naturally, the Welshman has now been linked with a big money move to Manchester United.
Manager Jose Mourinho is open to the idea of signing Bale but now according to reports from the Guardian, the Red Devils will miss out on the 28-year-old as he has been reassured of his future at Madrid by the club hierarchy – even if Mbappe arrives.
Missing out on Bale would be a big blow for United and the report adds that the ex-Tottenham star’s unavailability will mean that the Premier League giants will now continue to persist with their interest in Ivan Perisic.
United have long been in the market to sign Perisic, but it looked like they would miss out on the signing of the Croatian international after failing to agree on a fee with Inter. However, United are now set to revive their pursuit in the attacker and it will be interesting to see if this long running saga will finally reach a productive resolution.
