AC Milan club director Massimiliano Mirabelli has dropped a huge hint that the Italian giants will look to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.
Manchester United took a bit of a gamble by signing an ageing Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer but the leap of faith more than paid off as the Swedish superstar set Old Trafford alight by scoring 28 goals in all competitions.
Ibrahimovic’s campaign ended prematurely though after he suffered a serious knee injury during a Europa League quarter final encounter against Anderlecht and with the striker ruled out till January 2018, United have not offered him a new contract.
That said, Ibrahimovic is still using United’s facilities to nurse himself back to full fitness and there is widespread belief that the Red Devils will re-sign the 35-year-old for the second half of the upcoming campaign during the January transfer window.
In potentially worrying news for United though, wealthy Italian club AC Milan have also emerged as a contender to sign Ibrahimovic and now the club director of the Serie A side, Massimiliano Mirabelli, has dropped a huge hint that they will look to sign the ex-San Siro favourite.
Mirabelli told Sport Mediaset when pressed on the rumours about the enigmatic striker, “Ibrahimovic? In life, never say never. Maybe an old acquaintance of ours could come back…
“I don’t want to hint at Ibra, that’s not the case. We have our feet on the ground. We’ll evaluate the things that we have to do after August 15.”
