France international Anthony Martial has reportedly grown frustrated with his reduced gametime under Jose Mourinho, and he is prepared to consider a fresh challenge away from the club during the summer.
According to RMC Sport, the 22-year-old is keen to overcome his predicament in the off-season with Jose Mourinho reluctant to play him regularly in the starting lineup since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.
Martial, who has claimed three Player of the Season awards, won himself a regular role under Mourinho during the months of December and January, and he had scored in three straight league games prior to Sanchez’s arrival.
Since then, the attacker has been restricted to just two Premier League starts, and RMC suggest that the Frenchman has planned to snub contract discussions in order to push through a summer exit.
Losing a player of Martial’s calibre would turn into a huge blow for United, considering the forward has contributed 21 goals and assists – despite being in and out of the starting lineup.
Unlike Marcus Rashford, Martial is fighting for his position with the France national side, and this could be one of the prime reasons behind him seeking an exit at the end of the campaign.
