According to a report covered by Sport (press image provided below), Man Utd have set their sights on signing the midfield star to replace current record signing Paul Pogba, who will be free to leave in the summer upon expiry of his contract.

However, the renowned Spanish news source have mentioned that it seems likely the Red Devils will not be able to close the signing before the closure of the winter transfer window.

It is further stated that player himself rejected a deal from Newcastle United, wants to finish the season with the Naples based side and will analyze his future at the end of the campaign.

Ruiz is a creative player in the center of the park and this season, in 19 starts in all competitions thus far, he has directly contributed in 9 goals (5 goals and 4 assists). He was a part of the La Roja squad that reached the semis at the European Championships.

The Old Trafford outfit have recently loaned Donny van de Beek to Everton. The Dutch international is yet to get a fair chance for Man Utd, who already have a problematic midfield. Do you think, Fabian Ruiz is good enough to improve our squad?
