With all the talk of a certain world cup winning superstar signing for the Reds this week there seems to be little headline room for another German- born midfielder who may have an important role to play at United for many years to come.
Sean Goss may not be the first name on the squad sheet as the club jets off on its pre-season tour of the US but he is named in the 26 strong party. The 19 year old former Exeter City player who was born in Wegberg Germany has impressed this season even drawing comparisons with Michael Carrick.
Whether or not the teenager will get the chance over in the US to show whether he’s got the potential for making the United first team remains to be seen but in the past pre-season friendlies have gone some way to at the very least putting players in the media spotlight and reminding the manager he’s not just got international superstars at his disposal.
Lifelong United fan Sean Goss may not be on everyone’s radar but the fact he’s travelled with the squad means he’s certainly on the Louis Van Gaal’s.
